Varsity Head Coach - Larry Estrella

Who: Any 7th-12th grade homeschooled student or a traditionally-schooled student whose school does not offer boys volleyball. It is the age eligibility policy of Greenville Hurricanes that athletes for the 26/27 school year do not turn 11 after 12/31/26 and do not turn 19 before 7/1/26.

When: Tuesday, July 14 from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Coach: Coach Larry Estrella grew up playing Volleyball in Hawaii in Middle and High School. He played the sport in college and following college, and has also refereed volleyball. He is excited to continue to work with our players to produce excellence and sportsmanship in the great game of Volleyball!

Important Dates:

• Thursday, July 16, 6:00 PM - Parent/Player Meeting
• Thursday, July 16, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM - First Practice

Practice: Practices will be held at Taylors Rec (200 W Main St, Taylors, SC - backside of the building). Practice begins after the parent/player meeting on 7/16 and runs through the end of the season. The practice schedule will vary based on game schedules and gym availability. Between practices and games, plan for 3-4 nights per week. Practice dates and times will be in the TeamSnap app for easy tracking.

Game Schedule: The game schedule will be on your TeamSnap app once you have registered.

Fees: Our goal is to develop a program that provides a competitive environment while giving the players the opportunity for development.

• Registration - Covers operations (facilities, officials, equipment), administrative costs (insurance, personnel), and participation in the 2026 season.
• Fundraising - This is a critical aspect of our program. We have two options that each player can use to raise funds to reduce the cost of program-related fees. Each player will need to bring in the amount specified below in fundraising or cover that amount as a family. Fundraising is due by July 31st. Any amount that has not been brought in by that date will be invoiced. The invoice will be due September 15th.
  • Option 1- Get a sponsor for our warm up shirts for $250 (logo on back of the shirt)
  • Option 2- Get a sponsor for a banner for home games for $500
• Fees for 2026 Season
  • Registration - $400
  • Fundraising - $250
  • Uniform - $100
• Payment Plan Option
  • $250 paid at the time of registration
  • Remaining amount split up evenly into payments made in August and September
  • If you want to use this payment plan option, choose to "pay by card" on the checkout page. You will then turn on installments with the red toggle button.

Volunteering: All families are expected to take volunteering roles during the season. This may be admissions, setup, scorebook, scoreboard operation, cleanup, etc. Each family will be assigned a certain amount of slots to sign up for. Continued player participation is dependent upon volunteer slots being fulfilled.

Paperwork
Sports Physical: A physical will be necessary before the first practice for those athletes making the team. A Hurricanes Physical date will be announced soon!

Birth Certificate: Required only for athletes new to Greenville Hurricanes. Returning athletes will already have their birth certificate on file.

Sport Physical & Birth Certificate Submission: In order to streamline the process, please scan or take a photo of the Birth Certificate and/or the doctor's signature page of the Sport Physical (only need that 1 page).

BOYS VOLLEYBALL CLINIC & OPEN GYM 2026

The Greenville Hurricanes is a volunteer-based program. Each family is responsible to sign up for a role to support the program.

Further information regarding volunteering will be given at the Parent/Player Meeting when the season begins.
