TRYOUTS
Who: Any 6th-12th grade guys or girls who are homeschooled OR traditionally schooled athletes whose school does not offer a soccer program.
When: Girls - January 12 & 13, 6-8:30pm / Boys - January 15 & 16, 5:30-7:30pm (Update times due to chilly weather)
Where: Pavilion Field (400 Scottswood Rd, Taylors, SC)
Tryout format: Each year the Lord blesses us with a growing number of athletes at tryouts. Our coaches do the best they can with the time and conditions to assess every player and select a team that will achieve our mission of honoring Christ, being Competitive, and building Community.
Players will be moved around the tryout space by age, size, and skill level, based solely on the assessment of our coaching staff. Our coaches are aware that not everyone will be in their natural or preferred position. Our staff is assessing players on the following criteria which can be seen at any position on the field.

- Work ethic
- Ability to mesh well with others
- Soccer IQ
- Ability to learn and adapt
Tryouts will be 2-night events. All players will attend the first night of tryouts. The second night will be by invitation only. Invitation notifications will be sent via email after the first tryout.
We have limited time to achieve our objectives so coaches will NOT be available to discuss individual players with parents during tryouts and the selection process.
After the completion of tryout sessions, our staff will work together to make team selections. Those selected to a team will be notified via email with a team invite that will have instructions to accept the invitation. Those who are not selected to a team will be notified via email.

- Uniforms
- Jerseys - $100 for 2 jerseys
- Individual jerseys may be purchased by returning players for $50 each
- Shorts - approximately $30 (will be purchased by athletes after registration)
- Socks - approximately $30 for two pairs (will be purchased by athletes after registration)
- Payment plan available if desired
- Pay $100 at the time of registration
- 2 additional monthly payments

PRACTICES
Practices will be held 2-3 times per week (depending on the team) on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday evenings. Practice days will be discussed at the parent/player meeting. Location is planned to be Pavilion Fields (same location as tryouts).
GAMES
Games will begin in early February. Game schedules will run from February through the end of April. We compete against other schools so games will be during the week. Game schedules will be available on the TeamSnap app after registering.
REQUIRED PAPERWORK
All paperwork must be turned in by the first practice in order to participate. Physicals
:A physical is required for all participating athletes 6th grade and above. The physical may not be more than 1 year old at any time during the season. Wondering when your physical expires?

Physical Form
Birth Certificate: Required only for athletes new to Greenville Hurricanes. Returning athletes will already have their birth certificate on file.
Sport Physical & Birth Certificate Submission: In order to streamline the process, please scan or take a photo of the Birth Certificate and/or the doctor's signature page of the Sport Physical (only need that 1 page).

HURRICANE PHYSICALS
Greenville Hurricanes will be offering $25 physicals on Thursday, January 15 from 5-7pm at the office of Dr. Patricia Banke (430 Cox Road, Greer). To schedule contact Julie Williams at communications@greenvillehurricanes.com.
