The following information is designed for players and parents, providing necessary detail to register for this upcoming season. Please carefully read through each section and when you are prepared to register, scroll to the bottom and click the registration button.

• 4/9 - Parent/Player Meeting held at El Bethel Baptist Church, 6-8pm (313 Jones Avenue, Greer)
• 4/23 - Hurricanes Physicals (more information can be found below)
• 5/6 - JV Uniform Fitting Day held at First Team Sports, 4-6pm (2520 Wade Hampton Boulevard, Greenville)
• 5/7 - Varsity Uniform Fitting Day held at First Team Sports, 4-6pm
• 5/7 - Last Day of Preseason Conditioning
• 5/9 - Football Combine
• 5/11-5/21 - Pre-Season Practice requiring helmets beginning Monday, May 11th, held at the Bonds Career Center Football Field (505 North Main Street, Greer, SC 29650
• 6/1-6/26 - Pre-Season Practice Continues 
• 7/7 - First Official Season Practice held at the Bonds Career Center Football Field

TEAMS OFFERED
Varsity – Athletes aged 15-18 on 8/1/26
Junior Varsity – Athletes aged 11-15 years old on 8/1/26
*Coaching staff will have the final determination of the team on which a 15 year-old will play.

ELIGIBILITY
All athletes interested in participating in the 2026 Season must be homeschooled or attend a school that does not offer the sport of Football.

• May 11 - May 21 - Monday, Tuesday & Thursday - 6:00pm-7:45pm
• June 1 - June 26 - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday - 6:00-7:45pm

SEASON PRACTICE
Official practice will begin on Tuesday, July 7 through the end of season on November 14 from 6:00-8:00pm. Practice will be held at the Bonds Career Center Football Field until the end of October, then moved to a practice field with lights TBD. Once games start, Wednesday practices may be included.

GAME SCHEDULE
The schedule will be available after registration on the TeamSnap app.

REGISTRATION COSTS
1) The Football Registration Fee for all Varsity and Junior Varsity players is $350.

2) The Uniform Fee is as follows -

• Junior Varsity is $80 for 1 reversible uniform jersey (Required for new players / Returning players may use their old jersey or purchase new)
• Varsity is $230 for 2 uniform jerseys (Required for all NEW Varsity Players (including JV moving up to V) / Returning Varsity Players may purchase if needed for size or condition).
• Pants will be purchased by the players. Varsity game pants are $108 and JV game pants are $30. There will be an opportunity to buy new and used inventory from Hurricanes Football at a discounted rate.

3) The Player's Kit - First time Hurricanes athletes are required to pick up a Player’s Kit for $100, which includes a sleeveless compression, practice jersey, practice pants, girdle, practice belt, and socks. These articles are vitally important to the new player, while returning players can place an order for any individual pieces needed. All Player's Kit items will be ordered online through First Team Sports.

FUNDRAISER
Hurricanes Football offers fundraisers in an effort to subsidize costs, assisting families while supporting the program. Fundraiser information will be provided in a separate communication.

PAYMENT PLAN
Hurricanes Football provides a Payment Plan option.

• A payment of $100 due at Registration.
• The remaining balance will be divided equally and drafted once a month for the following three consecutive months.
• Select Pay by Card on the checkout page
• Use the red toggle button to turn on installments.

ITEMS PURCHASED INDIVIDUALLY BY PLAYERS
(Official Team Colors – Red, Black, White, Gray)

• Black Helmet with Black Face Mask – ALL Varsity and Junior Varsity athletes are required to wear an adult helmet. HELMETS ARE REQUIRED FOR PRE-SEASON PRACTICE as of 5/11! Options for purchasing include:
  • First Team Sports (2520 Wade Hampton Boulevard, Greenville)
  • Amazon
  • Sports Unlimited (online retailer)
  • Play it Again Sports in Greenville (used equipment)
• Shoulder Pads – Athletes are required to have shoulder pads in order to be sized at First Team Sports - 5/6 JV / 5/7 Varsity.
• Cleats – Official team colors are red, white, black or gray and/or any combination of those colors. No other cleat colors are permitted.
• Mouth Guard – These must be red or white.
• Knee Pads - These are used for both practice pants and game pants. It is recommended to have 2 sets of knee pads. Academy Sports has low-cost knee pads.

REFUND POLICY
Once officially registered, no more than 50% of the Football Registration Fee (ONLY) would be eligible for a refund if a player does not participate. The refund would only be issued for reasons of extreme circumstance including: Illness, injury, family relocation, etc. The Greenville Hurricanes offers a clearly defined Refund Policy found in our Handbook (click here for immediate viewing - Refund Policy).

HURRICANE SPORTS PHYSICALS
Sport Physicals are required for each middle school and high school athlete participating in Hurricane Athletics. The Sport Physical must not be more than one year old at any time during the season. Each year we offer sport physicals through our sport medicine partner, Dr. Patricia Banke, for only $25! We invite all athletes to take advantage of this at our first scheduled opportunity on Thursday, April 23, 5:00-7:00pm located at 430 Cox Rd, Greer, SC 29651. Schedule your Sport Physical by contacting Julie Williams - communications@greenvillehurricanes.com.

PAPERWORK REQUIREMENTS
There are a few important documents necessary to complete Football Registration and to have your athlete ready for Pre-Season Practice.

• Sport Physical - Every athlete must submit a current Sport Physical not more than 1 year old at any time during the season. Wondering when your physical expires? Click here
• Birth Certificate - First year athletes are required to submit a copy of their Birth Certificate, which is kept on file in the Business Services Office. Returning Cane athletes are not required to re-submit.

In order to streamline the process, making it more convenient for you, please scan or take a  photo of the Birth Certificate and/or the doctor's signature page of the Sport Physical (only need that 1 page) and email to Julie Williams - communications@greenvillehurricanes.com.
NOTE - Athlete participation will be restricted until all paperwork has been submitted.

SEASON VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS
Supporting our football program and your athletes requires families to assist throughout the season. With your support, we can once again make this Football Season a HUGE SUCCESS for our athletes. Every family registered in the 2026 season will be expected to sign up for volunteer opportunities - which might include help with concessions, admissions, chain gang, ball boy, setup, cleanup, and more.

Our volunteer coordinator is Sarah Canino. Volunteer questions may be directed to her - 518-821-9773. Please be on the lookout for a google form that needs to be filled out once you are registered.

There are usually 5 required opportunities to serve for each football family over the course of the entire season. In addition to the Gameday volunteer opportunities, there are a few special volunteer roles available (securing one of these roles will cover the volunteer expectation for the entire season). FOOTBALL CONDITIONING 2026

We've already got our eyes set on Football Season 2026, and it's time to start CONDITIONING! Conditioning is highly recommended to our football players to help them get ready for the upcoming season. We are excited to partner with 11.11 Training and Coach Tanner Pittman to lead our conditioning program!

Who:  Any athlete in 6th-12th grade in the 2026/27 school year

When:  3/30 through 5/7 (18 sessions)

• Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays, 8:30-9:30pm
• We will wrap up with our annual Canes Combine on May 9th (more details to come!)

Where:  11.11 Training - 301 Airport Rd. Ste. L, Greenville 29607

Cost:  $80 (includes 18 sessions and a t-shirt)

11.11 Staff:  Coach Tanner Pittman is the Owner and Head Performance Coach at 11.11 Elite Training. A former multi-sport athlete and USAW Certified Strength Coach, he specializes in helping youth and high school athletes improve speed, strength, and athletic confidence through safe, structured training. Coach Tanner focuses on proper movement mechanics, injury prevention, and long-term athletic development while creating a positive and supportive environment for athletes and families alike.

FOOTBALL MS CAMP 2025

Greenville Hurricanes is excited to offer our first ever Middle School Football Camp, as we look forward to the possibility of offering a MS Football Team in the near future! This camp will focus on football fundamentals and will be led by the Canes Football coaching staff. We're excited to work with our middle schoolers!

Who: Any 5th-8th grade homeschooled student or traditionally-schooled student whose school does not offer Football

When:  Tuesday to Thursday, November 11-13, 5:30-8:30pm

Where:  Northside Park - 101 W Darby Rd, Taylors, SC 29687

Wear:  Weather-appropriate athletic clothing. Cleats preferred but not required.

Cost: $50 (includes camp t-shirt)
