BASEBALL TRYOUTS & SEASON 2025/26 INFORMATION
November 6th, 10th, & 11th are the official tryout dates for Hurricanes Baseball! Below is all the season information. There is no cost for trying out, but you must be signed up to try out (opening soon)!
Players who desire to play with the Canes in the Spring of 2026 must attend one of the tryout dates. It is not acceptable to miss tryouts because you have travel ball practice. If you have questions or concerns please contact our program director, Scott Jacobs (baseball@greenvillehurricanes.com).
Tryouts
- Thursday, November 6, 6pm - Middle School (6th-8th) Tryouts - Canes Practice Field (1500 W Parker Road, Greenville, SC 29617). Please park in the back parking lot behind the church (Calvary Greenville). All current and future players must attend.
- Monday, November 10, 6pm - High School (9th-12th) JV/V Tryouts - Canes Practice Field (1500 W Parker Road, Greenville, SC 29617) - Please park in the back parking lot behind the church (Calvary Greenville). All current and future players must attend.
- Tuesday, November 11, 6pm - High School (9th-12th) JV/V Tryouts - Canes Practice Field (1500 W Parker Road, Greenville, SC 29617). Please park in the back parking lot behind the church (Calvary Greenville). All current and future players must attend.
Important Dates
- Saturday, November 15 - Official 2026 rosters released & online registration for 2026 season will open
- Thursday, November 20 - Mandatory player/parent meeting, uniform fitting & season registration deadline
- Tuesday, January 6 - Pitchers and catchers begin throwing
- Monday, January 26 - First day of spring practice
Season Costs
- Registration fee - $500 (fees go toward field rentals, umpires, indoor rentals, miscellaneous uniform, equipment, and overhead expenses)
- Helmet - $50 (if you do not have an official Hurricanes helmet from last season)
Payment Plan Option
- $150 due during online registration
- Remainder is split evenly into 3 monthly installment payments

Items Provided by Players
Cleats, gloves, white game pants with black stripe, bats (bat standard, BBCOR, -3 or “drop 3”)
Practices
- Middle School practice will be from 5-7pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and 11am Saturdays until games begin in late February.
- JV and Varsity practices will be from 6:30-8:30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays with occasional Saturday morning batting practices until games start in late February.
- First practice for all 3 teams is January 26.
Games
Games will begin in late February. As of now, home games are played at various fields around Greenville County. Away games are typically played against teams in Greenville, Anderson and Spartanburg County. We do, however, travel on a few occasions to play teams as far as Charlotte, Columbia, Atlanta and Asheville. Games conclude the second week of May.
Paperwork Requirements
Physicals: A physical is required for all participating athletes 6th grade and above. The physical may not be more than 1 year old at any time during the season. Hurricane physicals will be offered in October! Watch for that announcement.

Birth Certificate: Required only for athletes new to Greenville Hurricanes. Returning athletes will already have their birth certificate on file.
Sport Physical & Birth Certificate Submission: In order to streamline the process, please scan or take a photo of the Birth Certificate and/or the doctor's signature page of the Sport Physical (only need that 1 page).
