The Greenville Hurricanes are the teams that make up the athletic program of the Upstate Homeschool Co-Op (UHC). The Upstate Homeschool Co-op is a not-for-profit organization created to provide enhancement opportunities in the overall education of the homeschooled student. In an effort to enrich our co-op opportunities and deepen our sense of community, the UHC Board of Directors unanimously approved adding the Greenville Homeschool Hurricanes sports program starting in the fall of 2008.
The Hurricanes offer boys’/girls' high school and middle school basketball, soccer and girls' volleyball. This program is not exclusive to UHC co-op member families and is open to the greater homeschooling community. We are tasked with providing a competitive varsity high school athletic venue for Greenville-area home schooled students. Hurricane teams will be highly competitive in nature and will be competing against private school teams in SC, NC, and GA. We are also excited to provide opportunities to compete for home-school titles on the state, regional and national levels.
Beginning in 2012, Hurricane Athletics also added our football program, which in addition to serving the home school community is also open to any school-aged athlete whose school does not offer a football program. This includes privately schooled, charter, and home schooled students.
