Based on the interest information we have received (both at the meeting and by email) we will be holding tryouts for our 7th-12th grade athletes THIS COMING TUESDAY, 8/25, 6:30-8:30pm @ Kroc Center Tennis Courts (205 Gibbs Street, Greenville). If you are considering being involved, come on out to tryouts! Attending tryouts does not guarantee a spot on the team and does not commit you to joining a team.
Bring to Tryouts: Racket, Water Bottle, Appropriate Athletic Shoes
PLEASE NOTE! If you will be trying out for the Hurricane Team, you must register online before trying out. Use this link to register - https://go.teamsnap.com/forms/241509
Below you will find all the season information for the 7th-12th Grade Hurricane Tennis Team and below that information on GJTT clinics and teams for 8 years of age through 6th grade AND off-seson MS/HS teams.
HURRICANE TENNIS 7th-12th TEAM
Home Court Location - Kroc Center Tennis Courts (205 Gibbs Street, Greenville)
Practices - Days are to be decided once we have determined teams
Coach - Seth Bursha (Boys) // Seeking Coach (Girls)
Cost - Estimated to be $150
Uniform - Athletes will need to purchase a CANES tennis top
Competition - Our plan is to compete as we are able with other area schools. Covid restrictions may affect our ability to schedule. Scheduling is already underway with area schools. If the team is not able to compete with schools this fall, we will compete as a GJTT team. (Both boys and girls are available this fall in case schools do not offer).
High School Seasons - Girls - Fall // Boys - Spring
OPPORTUNITIES WITH GJTT - Elementary, MS & HS
Because of our relationship with Greenville Junior Team Tennis, there are also ways for ages 6 to 18 to be involved in both clinics and teams:
Ages 6 through 6th grade - Clinics & Teams (see info sheets below)
Grades 7th through 12th - Compete on a Hurricanes Team in your off season (Girls off season is spring // Boys off season is fall) (see info sheets below)
Please feel free to attend our tryout date even if you are interested only in the GJTT program. This will give you a chance to see the facility, hit some tennis balls and ask questions.
