It's time to lace up those running shoes and hit the ground running! The Greenville Hurricanes Cross Country program would love to have your student join us for a sport that can be perfect for any athlete. In the unique team sport of cross country, your athlete has the opportunity to be a part of an amazing running family, working together as a team, while still achieving individual goals. Who Can Participate:
Hurricane Cross Country is open to male and female students in 6th through 12th grades who are homeschooled or who attend a school that does not offer a Cross Country program.
Costs:
Registration Fee - $130
Uniform - All runners will need a new uniform this season - $50
Discounts:
- Multiple runners in the same family will receive a $25 discount.
- 6th Graders will receive a $25 discount. (6th graders cannot participate in some competitive meets.)

Paperwork Requirements:
Athletes must turn in a sports physical, completed by a physician within the last year and a copy of birth certificate. (For returning athletes, birth certificates are kept on file.) Hurricane physicals are offered on July 28, 6-9pm. More info below.
Hurricane Physicals
Date: Tuesday, July 28
Times: 6:00 - 9:00 pm - non-invasive physicals
Location: Shriner's Hospital - 950 West Faris Road, Greenville
Cost: $25 (For comparison, Minute Clinic, MD360 and Doctor's Care all charge $40-$60 for a sports physical)

Equipment:
Athletes should have appropriate running attire, running shoes, and a stop watch. They will need a water bottle and towel or yoga mat at all practices.
Practice Information:
Practices are held:
- Monday - 3:30-5:00pm
- Tuesday - 4:30-6:00pm
- Thursday - 4:30-6:00pm
Location is primarily at Taylors First Baptist Fields (Taylors Road). We will also meet at Pittman Park on Blacks Road or the Swamp Rabbit for some long runs. Students are required to attend a minimum of two practices a week, unless approved, in order to participate in meets. More miles will be assigned for students to complete outside of practices.

Please save these dates as possible meet dates and recognize we may add or subtract as leads are made for meets. We run against public, private, and home-schooled students. Dates of meets scheduled to this point are below. Other dates will be added.

Costs for these meets are included in your registration.
Homeschool Nationals - Our goal is to compete in the Homeschool Nationals in Nashville, TN. This meet is usually held the first week in November. Families will be responsible for lodging and travel expenses. Race fee is included in registration. We plan to offer a fundraiser for this event.
Online registration must be completed by our 7/23 sizing date.
